Day 351

WE LOVE BRITISH TV PROGRAMS
this one is from 2000 to 2005

If you are looking for something good to watch on TV, go to Netflix and watch this series. When we began watching a few days ago, we were pleasantly surprised when we discovered that it was filmed for 6 seasons! That means we have lots more fun in store. We are watching 2 episodes at a time.

I changed up the Christmas tree this year. Red, Green and Silver

Day 350

WE TOOK SOUND TRANSIT TO SEATTLE
Senior rate only $1 each each way for a total of $4!

We left home at about 1:10 and drove to Issaquah to take the express  bus to Seattle. We got there at just the right time to get on board the earlier bus than what Dave had planned. Easy peasy ride. We were amazed at how many of the people spent the entire time on their cell phone. We managed to talk to a nice young man who was heading in to the Seahawks game so the 25 minute ride went quickly.

Here are some of the sites we saw.

This crazy monk fish began moving around when we least expected it.
Those were some huge lobster tails!

Octopus anyone? You've got to love the Pike Place Market

This is just one of the many people we came upon who either sang or played an instrument. Ugh. They were all pretty bad.

This was the only window we saw that was decorated for Christmas. Macy's.

Westlake Mall Tree

Inside the Pacific Center, where the Salvation Army quartet was playing as we ate an early dinner

There's my honey!

That was a huge plate of fish and chips. Yummy but couldn't eat it all.

Some of the downtown lights

There is the old Bon Marche star....oops. Macy's...sniff, sniff.

Sheraton Hotel Gingerbread houses were Harry Potter Theme

Another One

Chihuly Glass

You can hardly tell these are made of gingerbread

Amazing

A new construction site that we happened upon on our walk to the bus stop.

We were home by 7:20 and ready to settle in for the night. All in all a good day.

Day 348

 GOLF HOLIDAY PARTY
what a great group of ladies

Our super hostess, Laura, who is an amazing Christmas decorator!
See what I mean? Every year she decorates using a different theme. This year her theme is "Owl Be Home For Christmas"

Owl have to admit that I LOVE coming to her home each year for her party.

Hey, I even managed to get a picture of my taco casserole with the lettuce and olives on top.

And then I was off to stop at Shauna's house on my way home. I needed to check on Steve, the cat, who is doing well while all by himself for a week. I caught him licking his lips.

Day 347

FINALLY DECORATING
and taking a break to upgrade my cell phone
And here is Frosty! I got him set out and inflated but Dave had to do a better job of tying him down than I did or he would be on his way to the North Pole.

My S6 was heating up so much that it became a problem. Dave said go back to T Mobile and ask what they can do about it. So here I am with an upgrade to the S7. I spent all afternoon going back and forth to the T Mobile store since it took HOURS to swap all my apps, photos, etc from the old to the new phone. Now I have to spend more time getting it set up the way I like and updating most of the apps. I think I will like this phone though.

Day 345

STAYED HOME ALL DAY
a fine day it was

I made a new jacket for Beemer when we are walking on those super cold days. Thankfully I got several other things stitched up today.

Banana Bread! That Betty Crocker cookbook has been used so much it is falling apart. I think I got it before I got married.

Day 344

IT'S FRIDAY!
and the small amount of snow hasn't slowed me down

First I drove to the Bernina store for the 2nd of 5 classes to learn about the 7 series Bernina sewing machines. I did not bring my sewing machine because I had other obligations all afternoon and didn't want to leave it in the back of my car during this freezing weather. I took notes and managed to learn a few things I didn't already know.

Patty is helping Rebecca

Then it was off to Merrely's house for our pinochle game. Woo Hoo! I ended up with the highest score so took home $5 and to top it off, I had the only double pinochle of the day, so my partner and I each got $8! Usually it would only be $2 each but the pot grew since no one had a double pinochle in the last several games. This is a great group of ladies.
Merrely, Joan, Brita and Donna
MaryAnn, Brita, Merrely and Ann

Wyona, Donna and Joan
After pinochle I drove to Shauna's house to have some one-on-one time with Charlotte during Hailey's Brownie meeting, BUT.....Shauna forgot to call me and let me know that because of the "snow" the moms had cancelled the meeting. I stayed for about 1/2 hour and visited then drove toward home, calling Dave to let him know I was coming home early. He and Ed were at Marv's visiting, so I decided to just stop by and visit with Merrely again. After a nice chat, I was ready to get home, greet Beemer and relax for the evening.

Day 343

NAILS, HAIR, DOG WALK, DINNER
with a bit of sewing tossed in

I have been neglecting my fingernails for several months now but decided to go and get them spruced up for Christmas.

My favorite sparkly red

Then it was off to get my hair cut, which needs to happen way too often when you have short hair.

Better late than never

Beemer was needing some exercise and since my knee has MIRACULOUSLY become pain free (YEA for medication) I thought I could actually take him out for a nice walk and not suffer. Success! I'm happy to report my knee did great.

Then some sewing and our annual Leisure Estates Christmas dinner, with excellent entertainment.
