IN TODAY'S MAIL
Dave and I were once again reminded of the reality of our friends not living here on earth as long as we would like. This lovely card arrived in our mailbox from the wife of a couple we had met 15 years ago on a cruise. Bus and Laura live in Manhattan and we had an immediate connection with them that has lasted throughout the years with phone calls and cards. Laura wrote to tell us that Bus had passed away and she is still living in the same apartment with caregivers to oversee her needs. We had always talked about going back for a visit but just kept putting it off. We will cherish our memories of that 17 day cruise and the many loving and fun conversations we have had on the phone. Bus had a great sense of humor and he and Dave just clicked. This is a reminder to not put off doing things until it is too late.
